Daisha Washington served as President of Club Esteem’s Future Professional program for two consecutive years.  She was also an outstanding teen tutor.  Daisha wants to be seen as a role model for others and is someone who strives for academic excellence. Taking mostly honors and AP courses, Daisha was ranked in the top 5% of her class with an impressive 4.0 weighted GPA.  She was a member of the National Honor Society, as well as a founding member and vice president of the AVID club at Palm Bay High. Daisha was also secretary of Future Educators of America, through which she helped organize fundraising activities to support homeless shelters and our nation's troops in harm's way.  Daisha has received a congressional merit award and is the recipient of the Alexander Hamilton Citizenship Achievement Scholarship Award.  Daisha Washington was the recipient of the prestigious Gates Millennium scholarship.  This award (made possible by Bill and Melinda Gates) covers tuition, room and board throughout the Master or PHD programs. Ms. Washington was one of the 1,000 recipients chosen from 55,000 graduates.  Daisha is also the recipient of the First Generation Grant, the Alpha Phi Alpha scholarship, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority scholarship, Dell Scholar, Horatio Alger, Melbourne Elks, Reginald E. Johnson, and was in the prestigious Bill Gates Millennium Scholars program.  Daisha will enter the nursing program at Florida Atlantic University in the fall of 2013.
