Club Esteem is looking for dedicated volunteers to assist in developing self-confident, goal oriented youth by building character, promoting academic success and appreciation of the cultural arts. Club Esteem Volunteer Opportunities include:TUTOR/HOMEWORK HELPER: Tutors provide higher standards of learning to Club Esteem members in grades 1st12th. Tutors assist in the development and success of the student’s academic career by helping with homework and test studies. Tutoring Sessions: Monday-Thursday from 2:30-3:30pm, 3:30pm-4:30pm, 4:30-5:30 p.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m. We have an immediate need for tutors to assist with Spanish, Physics, Chemistry, Algebra I and II, and Calculus. MENTOR: Mentors establish a one on one relationship with Club Esteem Member in grades 1st-12th to make a significant difference in a child’s life. Mentors meet with their mentee weekly or bi-weekly. Monday-Thursday from 4:30PM-6:30PM or Friday from 4:30PM-5:30PM. SAT AND ACT PREP VOLUNTEERS: These volunteers help prepare Club Esteem high school students for success in the SAT and ACT tests to increase his/her chances for entry in the institute of higher education of their choice. Time slot for this position is 5:30-6:30 p.m. Books will be provided. INSTRUCTORS: Instructors provide members with exposure to cultural and academic enrichment programs. Possibilities include teaching a class in music (individual or group), dance, sports, photography, art, creative writing, computer, culture, manners & etiquette, etc. Times can be arranged. Instructors are needed for the Civil Aerospace Education Excellence M.A.R.S program • Grades 5–12 Making Aerospace Real for students provides national standards- based fun and exciting activities and curriculum that emphasize the connection of aviation & space to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and gives exposure to aerospace careers. Teacher instructional manual and student material will be provided. GUEST SPEAKERS: Guest speakers conduct presentations about their career, life, etc.- focus would be on supporting Club Esteem's objectives. Times can be arranged. BOARD MEMBER: Board members provide leadership and governance, set goals and make essential decisions for the organization. Board members are required to serve on a task force and contribute to Club Esteem. The quarterly meetings are held on the second Monday from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m. MONETARY DONATIONS: If you are unable to donate your time or talent but would like to make a contribution to Club Esteem, please send a check or money order to Club Esteem at 3316 Monroe Street Melbourne, Florida 32901 or you can make a secured donation through PayPal.
